Breaking: Wildcard announce Stewie2K for PGL Astana qualifier

Wildcard have officially announced that Jake "Stewie2K" Yip will be part of the team's roster for the PGL Astana 2025 Closed Qualifier. The short post, which was admittedly light on details, only confirmed that Stewie2K will be joining the team for the Astana qualifier, without disclosing who he will be replacing or whether he will remain with the squad beyond the qualifier.

The move sees Stewie2K set to return to the server almost a year after his unforgettable appearance as a stand-in for G2 at IEM Dallas 2024. Even though he helped G2 lift that trophy, he did not return immediately to the professional scene and kept streaming instead. Last week, however, Stewie2K announced during a stream that he'd come back to pro play some time in 2025.

Dust2.us reached out to Wildcard's CS2 manager, Jeremy "Jeremy9000" Gray for more details on the announcement, however Gray declined to provide any more information about the news.

Wildcard will fight for a spot in PGL Astana 2025 in what will be a hotly disputed Closed Qualifier as other notable NA teams such as M80, NRG, and BLUEJAYS are also in attendance.
