ESL Challenger team among final qualifiers to PGL Astana Closed Qualifier

The final Open Qualifier for PGL Astana has wrapped and the Closed Qualifier is primed to begin. The 32-team gauntlet begins later today to determine which team will qualify for PGL Astana.

ESL Challenger team Akimbo defeated Daaku in two maps in the semifinal to secure their spot in the Closed Qualifier. Akimbo started the match with a 13-6 win on Mirage and finished Daaku off 13-3 on Ancient for a clean 2-0

CSG0DS were back in the action after their forfeit in the previous OQ, without banned player sabLo. They faced off with Luigi's Mansion in the other semifinal. CSG0DS started the match with a commanding 13-3 victory on Ancient. Luigi's Mansion weren't able to answer back on Nuke, falling 13-8, and CSG0DS advanced to the CQ.

The two semifinal losers played each other in a third-place decider. Daaku took control in the first map, taking Ancient by a score of 13-9. Luigi's Mansion couldn't bounce back in the second map, Daaku won Dust2 by 13-3. Daaku were the final team to qualify for the PGL Astana Closed Qualifier.

The CQ begins tonight at Today 07:00PM.
