Breaking: See who Stewie2K is stepping in for in the Astana qualifier

Wildcard are live tonight in their opening match of the PGL Astana 2025 NA Closed Qualifier, and with the event finally starting, we finally know who Jake "Stewie2K" Yip is set to stand-in for during the qualifier. With Wildcard now in their opening match against Swedish-American mixteam Daaku it is clear that Stewie2K has taken Love "phzy" Smidebrant's spot on the starting lineup, with Stewie2K likely taking over the big green gun role from the Swede.

According to many, Wildcard's gambit by bringing in Stewie2K is to ensure the squad are marked as an Americas squad on the Valve Ranking System (VRS), this ensuring they will play the Americas MRQ, rather than the EU MRQ, should M80 finish ahead of them in the April VRS rankings update.
