Mauisnake and Pimp called on to cast mid-game during BLAST power outage
A power outage at BLAST Open Lisbon 2025 forced the quarterfinal match between G2 and MOUZ into a tech delay, and also forced two of the desk analysts into a new role: casting.
During the final moments of the sixth round of Nuke, Chad "SPUNJ" Burchill and Alex "Machine" Richardson unexpectedly went quiet. Round seven went by in complete silence before a tech pause came on, when Freya "Freya" Spiers revealed that the power went off in the commentary booth.
But as they sold saying goes: the show must go on. After a bit of desk analysis to kill time, Jacob "Pimp" Winneche and Alex "Mauisnake" Ellenberg were called on to continue the cast, in a moment Pimp said he'd "been waiting on for for a long, long time."
The duo took the reigns for only three rounds, but did an exemplary job working together in such a short time. The two played off each other well and used their knowledge as analysts to provide really solid insight during rounds. They handed things back to Machine and Spun after round 10, right as Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa slammed his desk with his fist; a fitting image given the frustrating day G2 has against MOUZ.
