Wildcard Stewie2K?

Breaking: Wildcard release teaser with multiple references to Stewie2K

Could Stewie2K be returning to action on Wildcard?

Houston-based esports organization Wildcard released a teaser video today at 05:00PM on X with references to Counter-Strike pro Jake "Stewie2K" Yip. While the ten second clip is sparse on details, the intentional references to the ELEAGUE Boston Major winner point to some kind of future collaboration between the two parties.

While the short clip does not outright mention the player, the AK-47 in the clip has stickers intentionally placed to spell out Wildcard Stewie2K while the T-side player pop flashes through a smoke a la "Smoke Criminal". This choice is seemingly alluding to Stewie2K's nickname "Smoke Criminal", a nom de guerre Stewie2K received early in his playing career for audacious plays through smokes in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Whether or not Stewie2K is set to join Wildcard as a player or in some capacity remains to be seen, although it would be a massive shift for the successful Wildcard lineup.

Stewie2K did recently hint that he was interested in returning to professional play around the BLAST.tv Austin Major due to the attention it would bring to the NA region so we'll have to wait and see comes next from Wildcard in the coming days.
