BLUEJAYS reverse-sweep MIGHT in BLAST.tv Austin Major NA MRQ debut
BLUEJAYS took down MIGHT 2-1 in the first round of the North American Major Regional Qualifier (MRQ) this Tuesday, April 15th.
The ESEA Advanced side almost ran away with a shocking 2-0 victory, but BLUEJAYS recovered on Mirage thanks to winning a round in which they had just been USP-S'd. Then, they proceeded to steamroll MIGHT on Train.
Nuke:
MIGHT 13-11 BLUEJAYS
MIGHT were off to a good start in the series as they secured eight rounds on the T-side of Nuke, carrying a good advantage for the second half.
They then hold off to the advantage despite BLUEJAYS winning the second pistol and the first gun round of that half. Ryan "Snakes" Amann was the top-fragger with 22 kills.
Mirage:
BLUEJAYS 13-10 MIGHT
MIGHT had a fair shot to close the series on Mirage as Logan "Voltage" Long popped off on multiple rounds. However, MIGHT lost a round to just USP-S' toward the end of that game, and that jeopardized their economy and possibly their mindset as well.
Train:
BLUEJAYS 13-2 MIGHT
While we can't tell how much losing Mirage affected MIGHT, they surely looked disjointed on Train as BLUEJAYS had no problem whatsoever in shutting down their T-side.
BLUEJAYS headed to their T-side with a 10-2 advantage and guaranteed the victory with ease.
BLUEJAYS are one win away from qualifying for the BLAST.tv Austin Major, but they'll have to overcome Complexity in the group A upper final to do that.
As for MIGHT, they can't lose any more in the NA MRQ or they'll be knocked out. They'll need to win three best-of-threes in a row to qualify for the Major.
