ESL confirm Grand Slam will continue after season 5, without Intel branding
The Intel Grand Slam has officially been rebranded to the ESL Grand Slam, and the tournament organizer has told HLTV that the event will continue after the current season concludes.
"Beginning with ESL Pro League Season 21, it will continue as the ESL Grand Slam," ESL wrote in a statement to HLTV. "Should the running fifth season conclude, we will continue to operate the ESL Grand Slam."
After numerous eagle-eyed viewers spotted the removal of the Intel branding earlier this month, Dust2.us reached out to ESL on March 16th and directly asked the organizer about Intel's involvement and the future of the Grand Slam. While ESL did not comment on Intel's involvement, ESL did confirm that the Grand Slam would "continue" through 2025 and 2026. Today, ESL confirmed to HLTV that that does mean a sixth season when the fifth concludes.
ESL and Intel announced in February that they would continue their long-standing partnership via a multi-year renewal ahead of IEM Katowice 2025. ESL did not provide a reason to Dust2.us or HLTV why Intel is no longer part of the Grand Slam name.
