The decision is motivated by financial and sporting factors

Media: Liquid to part ways with mithR

The Danish head coach is reportedly leaving Liquid after eight months.

Liquid and their head coach Torbjørn "mithR" Nyborg are parting ways, according to a report by our sister website Dust2.dk this Thursday, March 27th.

The news was first shared by the esports insider Vladislav Gromov this morning on X, which Dust2.dk was able to confirm. Liquid and mithR are parting ways amidst the likely signing of Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek as the new IGL.

According to Dust2.dk, the decision to let go of mithR is "part of a major strategic restructuring of the organization", which involves both sporting and economic factors.

Sources have told Dust2.dk that Liquid is currently operating with a "reduced financial framework", which forced the organization to reevaluate its team composition and management.

This new economic reality, combined with Liquid's lackluster recent results, played a big role in mithR's removal. Even though Liquid are the top-side in the Americas Valve Regional Standings (VRS), they only reached playoffs once in 2025.

Liquid signed mithR in July 2024 to replace the Brazilian Wilton "zews" Prado, and the Dane most notably helped them to make the playoffs of the Perfect World Shanghai Major in December.

For now, it's unclear who Liquid will sign as their new head coach. This is how Liquid's roster will look like, with mithR's removal and siuhy's arrival:

Canada Keith "NAF" Markovic
Canada Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken
Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak
Guy "NertZ" Iluz
Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek
