jkaem promises to refund the owners of CS2 skins he gambled away
Norwegian player Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad has been publicly accused this Wednesday, March 26th of owing $10,000 worth of CS2 skins to a trader known as Magnus "erlsan".
The debt in question traces back to skins that erlsan loaned to jkaem for the BLAST.tv Paris Major in 2023, when the Norwegian played for Apeks. Others accused jkaem of not paying up in the same X thread, which led jkaem to admit that he "fucked up bad and there is more than one case", and promising to make things right.

Several skin collectors lend their cosmetics to pros, especially around big tournaments such as the Majors, to show their collection to the world. It's a common practice and there's even a Discord server filled with skin collectors and pros to facilitate such loans.
Generally, pros either return or negotiate to buy the skins after the loan expires, however, erlsan accused jkaem of gambling his skins away. The skin collector also said that jkaem promised more to "upgrade" his skins, but he only paid back $1,000 of the $11,000 debt as of March 2025, nearly two years after the BLAST.tv Paris Major.
"I reached out mulitple times and he kept on creating new excuses," erlsan wrote on X. "He was traveling, he was getting paid in a week, for example. Eventually, I realized I was being too patient."
One hour after erlsan came forward, jkaem admitted to wrongdoing in this case and others of skin lending via his X account
I don’t have any excuses. I fucked up bad and there is more than one case. I will pay back everything to everyone I owe money/skins. I was an idiot honestly. I take full responsibility and I own my mistakes.
Together with the BC.Game team we are sitting down and taking this very serious. They want to help me fix the damage I have caused to everyone involved. I am being honest and open with them about my issues and how we have ended here.
I want to say sorry to everyone that I have taken advantage of. I am 100% in the wrong here and I have to stand in my own mess. As hard as this is, I'm grateful it's out in the open. Sometimes you need to hit the bottom to really see who's there for you, and I’m lucky to have people helping me clean this up and move forward.
In a separate reply, jkaem also mentioned that "it all comes down to an extreme gambling addiction", which has been "killing" him slowly for 12 years. The admin of the skin lending Discord server said jkaem was removed last year after he learned of the case.
BC.Game, the organization jkaem plays for, is yet to comment on the subject.
