walker begins repaying traders for $3,000 in stolen skins: "I'm doing what I should've done a long time ago"
Last week former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player Walker "walker" Harris announced that he has began the process of repaying skin traders and other community members for the nearly $3,000 worth of skins the former professional player stole in 2023 while also offering a mea culpa for his past actions.
Back in 2023, walker was accused of stealing a number of expensive in-game skins from skin lending community, with an extensive investigation by Dust2.us revealing that the Canadian pro abused his reputation in the community to acquire and then sell the items.
At the time of our original reporting, walker did not reply to our multiple attempts to reach out to him for comment, seemingly disappearing after being thoroughly disgraced. However, after close to two years walker has finally returned to announce that he is making amends with those he stole from and with the wider community.
Dust2.us has confirmed with skins trader notojo, the wider skin lending community, and Kevin "consti" Yi, a former teammate walker sold $1,000 worth of stolen skins, that walker is actively in contact with them all and plans to dedicate a portion of his paycheck monthly until the total sum is remunerated.
In the lengthy X post announcing his plan to repay those he wronged, walker acknowledged what he did in 2023 was "extremely disgusting" and that it came at an all-time low in his life, acknowledging what he did was wrong and a betrayal of the community's support during his playing career. With this, walker also announced that he has officially retired from competitive Counter-Strike, having moved to other ventures.
