donk reveals his pro player routine

See how donk spends his average day as a CS2 pro.

Danil “donk” Kryshkovets, undoubtedly the best CS2 player in the world, has revealed his daily training routine in a recent interview with Forbes Russia.

As expected, the vast majority of donk's day involves practicing with Spirit or honing his individual skills, he told Forbes Russia.

I wake up two hours before the team meeting. Let’s say we have a meeting at 12PM, so I get up at 10AM. I can just “lie around” on the phone for 30–40 minutes. Then I get up, wash my face, and do all sorts of household chores.

Then I have breakfast and sit down at the computer. At 12PM, a meeting with the team begins (usually online, in person during tournaments). We discuss the game, strategies, mistakes — in general, the theoretical part. It lasts about two hours. Practice begins at 2PM — at least four training matches in a row. On average, we finish somewhere around 7PM-8PM. But sometimes we play longer — it all depends on the context (whether it’s a simple training session or preparation for a tournament) and the schedule.

After that, everyone has free time, and they can use it as they want. For example, I have dinner and then sit down to play again until I get tired. It could be two hours, or five or six games on FACEIT — just as an extra workout. Sometimes I stay up late, but ideally I go to bed at one or two in the morning.

Such efforts have made donk the best player in the world since CS2's worldwide release in 2023. He played a big part in Spirit winning big tournaments such as IEM Katowice 2024, BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024, and most notably the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024.

donk was also ranked the best player of 2024 by HLTV, topping Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut and Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov in a hard-fought battle, and is currently in route to top the charts again in 2025 along both his main rivals.
