Breaking: Stewie2K listed on Wildcard roster for PGL Astana 2025 Closed Qualifier

North American veteran and ELEAGUE Boston Major winner Jake "Stewie2K" Yip is officially listed on the Wildcard roster page for the PGL Astana NA closed qualifier.

Stewie2K is listed on the team's Esportal page, which also reveals that their first match of the closed qualifier will take place tomorrow, March 27th, against Daaku. Whether he's joining as a temporary stand-in or a fully-fledged starter remains to be seen.

Just yesterday, Wildcard posted a Stewie2K teaser on their X page. Yesterday's clip showcased an AK-47 with Wildcard and Stewie2K stickers, as well as one of his trademark plays, the pop flash through smoke.

Even if Stewie2K is joining Wildcard only as a stand-in, he's already proven to be more than capable in a temporary role. One of his more recent iconic appearances was at IEM Dallas 2024, where he stood in for G2 and helped the team win the event. At the event, Stewie told Dust2.us that the event "would not be the last time" you see him competing.
