stanislaw hopes Wildcard can identify what makes them inconsistent

stanislaw: "It's frustrating being so close all the time and not being able to close it out"

The veteran IGL said Wildcard are feeling "extremely disappointed" for not making playoffs at Cluj-Napoca.

Wildcard were eliminated from PGL Cluj-Napoca on February 17th after a loss to BIG in the 1-2 pool of the Swiss group stage. Wildcard started the tournament with a dominant win over MIBR, but fell just about short when facing The MongolZ and Virtus.pro. There was an expectation Wildcard would go through BIG at least, given how well they were playing.

After the elimination to BIG, Dust2.dk's Jan "DOMiNA7HOR" Lindberg interviewed Wildcard's IGL Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz on behalf of Dust2.us to talk about how the team is feeling after the elimination and the narrow losses, and the lack of consistency of Joshua "JBa" Barutt and the rest of the team.

You had a great start to this tournament, does it feel frustrating to not make the playoffs after these narrow losses, especially to The MongolZ first and then to Virtus.pro? How are you guys feeling right now?

We are extremely disappointed. I feel like we played very well in the first few matches, especially on T-side. We are playing really well as a team and I really don't know what it is.

[Maybe it's] a lack of experience or something else that we'll have to identify. But, exiting the tournament after such a great start is extremely disappointing.

JBa played so well at Katowice, but he had a bit of drop-off here at PGL Cluj-Napoca. What was missing this time around, especially for him, but also for the rest of the team?

I think we're just constantly identifying new issues that arise with each player and I think we really need to become consistent with our match prep, our routines, and our individual prep.

We're still learning what the best system is for preparing for matches. I think it's just going to take a little bit more time to figure out what the issue is. Hopefully, we can find that consistency because it's frustrating being so close all the time and not being able to close it out and make a deeper run.

Wildcard have no events scheduled for the time being, so they lost a good opportunity to climb some points on the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) at PGL Cluj-Napoca.
