ECL S49 Week 1 Recap - Party Astronauts and Getting Info start strong with perfect records

The first week of ESL Challenger League Season 49 has come to a close, seeing all teams but Legacy playing at least one opening series, while Party Astronauts and Getting Info had a fantastic week with their new rosters. Party Astronauts currently sit at the top of the league table with a 6-0 record after wins over Akimbo, Aetheris, and Chicken Coop, while Getting Info also have a perfect 4-0 record with wins over NRG and Aetheris.

The win over NRG is in particular a statement win for TSM's rumored roster as Carson "nosraC" O'Reilly and co. accomplished it while fielding Shane "shane" Dressler and Derek "dare" Brown as stand-ins, showing this lineup has some legs even under suboptimal conditions.

Despite the loss to Getting Info, NRG's debut this season wasn't all bad as the team picked up three wins of their own over Chill Guys, Alter Iron, and LAG, light work for Nick "nitr0" Cannella's experienced lineup. The new Marsborne roster also had a strong debut, with the new organization climbing to a 5-1 record with wins over Alter Iron and LAG, and a split series against Chicken Coop

On the other side of the coin, LAG, InControl, and Alter Iron had fairly dismal debuts, with LAG sitting at a 1-7 record while the latter two teams started the season with four losses to fall to 0-8 records.
