FACEIT claims to be able to detect DMA cheats in latest patch notes
FACEIT, one of the most popular third-party matchmaking platforms for CS2, said on February 27th that their Anti-Cheat is capable of detecting Direct Memory Access (DMA) cheats and it's only a matter of time before those who use DMA hardware get caught.
"One of the most common misconceptions is that certain cheats, like Direct Memory Access (DMA) cheats, are undetectable," FACEIT's February 27th patch notes reads. "That’s simply not true."
Our AC leverages Windows security features such as TPM 2.0 and crucially operates at kernel level, allowing us to detect all game-adjacent activity on a PC while the user is playing on a FACEIT server. Thanks to this, it’s only a matter of time before any cheater, including those using DMA hardware, gets caught.
This statement is part of FACEIT's efforts to "cut through misinformation" as the platform has noticed a rise in misleading content, especially videos, claiming that cheats work on FACEIT servers.
FACEIT claimed most of these videos are scams that show cheats being used on non-FACEIT servers or using detected cheats just before they get banned to sell fake cheats.
Our anti-cheat is at the core of FACEIT—it’s what sets us apart and is why so many players choose our platform. We take that trust seriously and are committed to staying ahead in the ongoing battle against cheaters.
Our AC is built to identify and eliminate cheaters, but like any security system, we need to deploy it strategically, which occasionally means setting up ban delays, to maximise its effectiveness.
The patch notes also detailed how FACEIT issues bans and when the platform bans players instantly. If you want to read the full patch notes, simply click the link below and you'll see all updates FACEIT has done recently.
