Rumored TSM roster claim 2-0 win over NRG in ECL
Last night, TSM's rumored roster faced off against NRG in ESL Challenger League Season 49, seeing the squad face their biggest challenge to date since beginning to compete under the Getting Info tag at the start of the year. When the smoke cleared, Getting Info managed to eke out a close 2-0 win over NRG, an impressive feather in the cap for TSM's new lineup especially as the squad are required to field two stand-ins, Shane "shane" Dressler and Derek "dare" Brown, in order to hold their ECL spot.
The first match in this double best-of-one would go down on Nuke, where it was a game of momentum swinging back and forth. NRG blitzed out to a 6-0 lead on the T-side and looked primed to dominate the game, but Getting Info would answer back, closing the half by winning five of the last six rounds. With a 7-5 scoreline in favor of NRG, Getting Info would almost mirror their opponents' start on their own T-side.
The rumored TSM-core took the first five rounds of the second half with a Shane "shane" Dressler triple kill defense of A site making the score 7-10 for Getting Info. NRG would take a timeout and storm right back - winning many close rounds that were not going their way previously - to take the lead back once again at 11-10. NRG had Getting Info on a half-buy and looked prime to secure their twelfth round, but the CTs called a lobby crunch, spearheaded by Carson "nosraC" O'Reilly seemingly stumbling into a 3K with his saved M4 from the previous round.
The regulation period would end with traded rounds, sending this match of Nuke to overtime. Getting Info would take full control of the anti-climactic overtime period and win 12-16, with shane topping the scoreboard, posting a 27-18 K/D ratio.
Dust2 would get off to a much different start to Nuke, with both teams posturing and trading rounds back and forth after Getting Info's T pistol and anti-force buy conversions. Afterwards, NRG would go on a five-round streak, bringing the score to 4-6 in favor of the CTs, led by Nick "nitr0" Canella and Josh "oSee" Ohm. The half would end 5-7 to NRG, with the aforementioned duo logging 15 and 14 frags respectively.
NRG fans may want to avert their gaze now, as the second half was nearly all Getting Info. They once again won the pistol followed by the anti-eco and the first gun round. However, NRG would force into the fourth round and win, beginning what would be a three-round run to claim an 8-10 advantage. That would be where the good times ended for the Ts in the second half.
Getting Info claimed the rest of the rounds to win 13-10, behind Derek "dare" Brown's 15 second-half kills - matching nitr0's total from his own CT side. Speaking of nitr0, he was not able to build on his outstanding CT side and went fragless on the T-side.
Getting Info's next match in ECL S49 is scheduled to be against Chicken Coop on January 28th.
