BLAST invites Wildcard to Rivals 2025 Season 1

BLAST announced on April 2nd the eight teams that will attend the $350,000 Rivals 2025 Season 1. The list includes Wildcard, who received the wildcard invite allocated to North America.

Liquid presumably declined the invite as they were ranked higher than Wildcard in the Americas VRS on the March 3rd cutoff.

BLAST initially planned to invite the top eight teams in the world for the event, but Valve rules forced the tournament organizer to invite just the top four and distribute four wildcard invites across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.

BLAST Rivals Season 1 will be played from April 30th to May 4th in the BLAST studios in Copenhagen as BLAST abandoned the Monterrey location due to "logistical challenges". The tournament will see the eight teams battle in a double elimination group stage, with the top three teams of each group moving to the playoffs.
