roeJ was offered the bag and didn't cash in

roeJ says Liquid offered him $37,000 per month back in 2021

And roeJ declined the offer despite making 10x less money in Copenhagen Flames.

Fredrik “roeJ” Jørgensen revealed during a recent episode of the Bootcamp podcast that Liquid offered him a very generous salary of "roughly $37,000 per month" to join them in 2021. Curiously, roeJ also mentioned that kind of money "was just the standard".

The offer came around the time of the PGL Stockholm Major, which was played in October 2021. The Dane was playing for Copenhagen Flames at the time and declined to offer to stay in the Danish team. He said that he was earning approximately $3,700 at that time, but it didn't matter.

It sounded great, but I wanted to be somewhere I felt I could perform. And going over there, I’d be playing with EliGE, who plays a lot of my roles.

Sure, it would have been nice to go over there and cash in, but I also wanted to improve and make it far with my own career, so that meant more to me.

Liquid wasn't the only organization interested in roeJ's services at that time as Complexity was trying to sign the whole Copenhagen Flames roster. The Danes nearly signed with Complexity, but the deal fell through in the end.

roeJ stayed in Copenhagen Flames for the first half of 2022 and helped them to reach the playoffs of the PGL Antwerp Major in May of that year. He ended up joining fnatic in June 2022 and stayed there until the end of 2023.

roeJ retired in 2025 after a brief stint with Gaimin Gladiators and is currently working for the UNCORE Agency alongside Daniel "Vorborg" Vorborg, his former coach at Copenhagen Flames.
