Which CS2 maps are the most played after the first quarter of 2025?
The first quarter of the 2025 Counter-Strike 2 calendar is complete. But after thousands of played maps across the different tiers of the pro scene, which one is the most popular?
Ancient claims the temporary throne, with 1,145 maps of Ancient played as of April 1st, 2025. Ancient is one of the more balanced maps in the map pool as well: with a 48.9% CT win rate and a 51.1% T win rate, it's the second most balanced behind only Mirage.
Mirage, speaking of, is the second most played map of 2025 so far, with 962 maps played. The next three in the rankings are all pretty close to each other: Anubis (862), Dust2 (835), and then Nuke (828). Trailing behind those three is Inferno, with only 649 maps played.
Unsurprisingly, Train ranks towards the bottom of the active duty map pool, with only 354 maps played so far in 2025. As its a newer map that was introduced in the first week of the year, it's taken time for teams to get adjusted, but it's slowly getting more play time as the year progresses. At the very bottom, technically, is Vertigo, which was played six times in the week it was still in the map pool at the very start of the year.
The full distribution of maps played in 2025 are:
-
Ancient - 1,145
-
Mirage - 962
-
Anubis - 862
-
Dust2 - 835
-
Nuke - 828
-
Inferno - 649
-
Train - 354
The rest of the year will reveal whether teams will embrace Train more or potentially get bored of Ancient. As for Inferno, perhaps the bigger banana will convince teams to revisit it.
