Breaking: m0NESY to join Falcons in "biggest transfer in CS history"
Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov has reportedly signed with Falcons and will leave G2 in a matter of weeks, according to long-time Counter-Strike reporter Guillaume "neL" Rathier.
The transfer will supposedly be complete in time for the BLAST.tv Austin Major, with m0NESY replacing AWPer Abdul "degster" Gasanov and reuniting with Nikola "NiKo" Kovač. According to neL's sources, it will be " a multi-million dollar deal and the biggest transfer in Counter-Strike history."
Falcons had been in pursuit of m0NESY since signing NiKo last year, but G2 rejected the initial interest from Falcons and chose to make m0NESY the focal point of the 2025 roster. However, the start of the year has not panned out the way he or G2 has hoped, which neL reports has "confirmed his desire to go elsewhere." m0NESY's contract was meant to expire at the end of 2025, but it appears G2 is willing to transfer him now to avoid losing him for free later.
The reported Falcons roster of the near future will consist of:
Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski
Emil "Magisk" Reif
René "TeSeS" Madsen
Nikola "NiKo" Kovač
Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov
Danny "zonic" Sørensen (coach)
Falcons' next scheduled appearance is at PGL Bucharest in just two days' time, so it's very unlikely that m0NESY joins in time. A more realistic debut could be either IEM Melbourne beginning April 21st, or BLAST Rivals Spring starting April 30th.
