The decision will be taken after the Austin Major

Legacy plan return to South America after ECL ends

They want to go back to Brazil and play more tournaments.

Legacy, the only South American team currently living and competing in North America, are planning to leave the region after the conclusion of ESL Challenger League Season 49 North America, their new IGL Lucas "lux" Meneghini said in an interview with Dust2 Brasil.

"The idea is to play this final ECL and do what I've done with paiN, which is play the tournaments in Brazil, like the qualifiers, and gain points (in the Valve Regional Standings)," lux said.

By doing this, Legacy could get enough Valve Ranking points to qualify for bigger tournaments overseas and travel to Europe.

The discussions to possibly leave NA happened even before lux joined Legacy from paiN at the beginning of 2025. But the IGL was going to suggest it regardless due to concerns with the quality of practice in NA, which has been a subject for a long time.

"I feel that North America has room to come back (to what it was)," lux said. "This year they'll come back stronger, with new teams, but our idea is to return to SA regardless."

However, the decision to leave NA will only be taken after the BLAST.tv Austin Major, Legacy's manager Américo Verde told Dust2 Brasil.

Good imo. I guess it will lower the level of competition in ecl a little bit but I'm tired of them stealing na invites and prize $
