G2 stomp reduced strength BetBoom in BLAST Bounty Finals opener
G2 began their run at the BLAST Bounty Season 1 Finals today with an utterly dominant showing against BetBoom, smashing the ad-hoc squad 2-0 in Copenhagen with ease to advance to the semifinals of their last LAN of 2025..
It is worth pointing out that an important factor in the one-sided bout between G2 and BetBoom was due to the latter squad needing to field Vladislav "nafany" Gorshkov and Aleksandr "KaiR0N-" Anashkin as stand-ins for IGL Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov and AWPer Aleksandr "zorte" Zagodyrenko, leading to a much reduced BetBoom squad being on display compared to that seen online earlier in the month.
As such, BetBoom really struggled to get anything going against G2, with Anubis starting with Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa and co. up 10-2 on their T-side before posting a perfect CT-side to take the map 13-2. A similar story played out on Dust2, where G2 were once again in control as they started the map up 9-3 on their T-side before closing out Dust2 13-3.
With the win, G2 will now await their next opponent in the semifinals, waiting to see who chooses them when the remaining four teams are reseeded.
