G2 vs BetBoom BLAST Bounty Playoffs Preview
The BLAST Bounty Playoffs are about to kick off as Bounty Hunters BetBoom had the first choice of their playoff opponent and they picked to face off with G2. This choice may be explained by G2 looking vulnerable in the first stage of BLAST Bounty - their first event without Nikola "Niko" Kovac.
G2 defeated B8 and BIG leading up to this matchup, both in 2-1 fashion after losing the first map. BetBoom mirrored G2's results, beating MOUZ and FURIA with 2-1 comeback victories to qualify for the playoffs.
The biggest storyline for this match may come from issues outside the server. Both Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov and Aleksandr "zorte" Zagodyrenko will miss out on this LAN due to visa issues. They will be replaced by the recently benched duo of Vladislav "nafany" Gorshkov and Aleksandr "KaiR0N-" Anashkin.
The players to keep an eye on in either team will be Sergey "Ax1Le" Rykhtorov and Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov. Both players posted just under and 1.3 HLTV rating in BLAST Bounty Season 1 thus far, with the latter being rated as the second-best player in the world in 2024.
