malbsMd compares EU to NA: "People actually practice stuff to improve"

Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa's transfer to G2 from M80 proved to be one of the top signings of 2024. The Guatemalan was instrumental in G2's two tournament wins at BLAST Premier Fall Final and BLAST Premier World Final. His late-round clutches were key in securing their 3rd-4th finish at the Shanghai Major. malbsMd spoke with Dust2.dk's Emil "mad0" Nielsen ahead of BLAST Bounty Finals.

How have you found your time in G2 thus far?

It's been really great. I feel like I've become a better player, like a more complete player. And I feel like this is what I needed to be on the top. And I feel really happy about this journey.

How do you feel like you’ve improved since moving to Europe?

A lot. As I said, I feel like I'm more complete now. I feel like I have better protocols on myself, better fundamentals also, that you don't usually get to learn in the night, sadly. But yeah.

What are the biggest differences in practicing in EU vs NA?

I feel like here you have much more teams, many more teams and also people actually practice stuff to improve. In NA they just try to copy EU teams and they don't even know what's happening

Which player have you struggled against the most since joining G2 whether in practice or in matches?

Tough one. I don't know...

Not even someone like donk?

Yeah, but we have always beat them. So I don't know. I mean, yeah, I can say donk. He plays... He's just donking up and like... Actually struggle, struggle? Not sure. Maybe donk. I can say donk.

G2 are in action tomorrow, January 23rd, at BLAST Bounty Finals. They enter with the top seed and will have one of the lower-seeded "Bounty Hunters" choose to play them in the quarter-finals.
