Let's all calm down, one series to go

PW Shanghai Major Day Three Recap: Complexity and Wildcard still have hope

Both teams are one series win away from advancing to the Elimination Stage.

The third day of the Perfect World Shanghai Major has come to an end with Wildcard eliminating Virtus.pro in the 1-2 bracket, keeping their hopes of advancing to the next stage alive, just like Complexity, who eliminated Cloud9 earlier in the day.

United States Complexity ride the momentum and send Cloud9 packing

After a 0-2 start to the Opening Stage, Complexity easily eliminated Imperial yesterday and, despite it being a more balanced series, sent Cloud9 packing with another 2-0 series win.

Vertigo featured a huge 10-2 comeback from the North American side to send the map to overtime, where Complexity took the 16-13 win. Ancient followed and it wasn't really a close map despite the 13-8 score line, as COL led from round one all the way until the very end.

World Wildcard convincingly eliminate Virtus.pro

The road has been tough for Wildcard, as the team has lost some very close best-of-one matches, but, after dropping another winnable map to start the series against Virtus.pro, Wildcard took control of their fate and managed to turn the series in their favor, eliminating VP with a 2-1 series win.

Virtus.pro dealt the first blow on Ancient, winning it 13-10, but Love "phzy" Smidebrant put the team on his back and led Wildcard to a 13-7 Inferno win and a crucial 13-8 victory on Anubis.
