Halen and Team Horse top Launders LAN 2 makeup event

Last weekend the online makeup event for Launders LAN 2 was played out, seeing the teams that were unable to compete in the Canadian LAN due to tech issues being offered the chance to compete in an online event. As a reminder, Mohan "launders" Govindasamy's Toronto LAN unfortunately had massive tech issues, ultimately resulting in In-Game Corp, the tournament organizer, having to cut half of the group stage from the schedule in order to salvage the event.

In order to try and make up for it, Launders LAN 2 invited the 16 teams to compete in a $10,000 CAD online tournament. The 16 teams ultimately ultimately decided to split $8,000 CAD of the prizepool amongst themselves evenly due to multiple teams being unable or uninterested in competing in the online tournament. This left $2,000 CAD to be split among 13 teams competing in a one-day LAN.

Of these thirteen teams, a mixteam consisting of ECL players named "Horse" was far and away the best squad, cruising through the bracket with decisive wins over Nouns.fe and Michigan Lakers to face the University of Toronto collegiate squad in the finals.

In the finals, Horse started the series with a quick 13-5 win on Ancient before the series was evened up as UoT claimed Mirage 13-8. With the series tied, Dylan "DYLAN" Frivalt led the charge for Horse on Dust2, picking up 23 kills to help his team claim the map 13-10 and the series 2-1.

The top four at the Launders LAN 2 online makeup event was as follows:

1st - Horse (Halen, DYLAN, rayxts, milo, Misha) - $1,000 CAD
2nd - University of Toronto (Yuno, YUMMY, Ares, Timbis, Michael_Weki) - $500 CAD
3rd/4th - Pheasant Pluckers (yelrad, Alphite, NJdevils786, chnce, IseeUdere) - $250 CAD
3rd/4th - Michigan Lakers (sLi, FlagZ, Shoodyman, piK, Mythik) - $250 CAD
