Fisher College, Immigrants Peek join teams advancing to Bucharest Closed Qualifier

The third NA open qualifier for PGL Bucharest 2025 wrapped up on February 21st, seeing four more teams advance into the 32-team closed qualifier. As with the previous two qualifiers, the event had a diverse mix of teams owing to the sheer number of teams that are set to receive direct invites to the Closed Qualifier by the VRS.

However, unlike the second open qualifier, the third open qualifier saw a more "normal" slate of teams top the bracket, with ESEA Advanced teams Fisher College, Immigrants Peek, and Wanted Goons being joined by an EU-NA mixteam named seoul featuring relatively unknown players.

In their third run through the open qualifiers Immigrants Peek finally made it after a decisive run through the bracket, besting Aura and Vireo.pro 2-0 to make their way into the seeding matches. Fisher College also had an easy time on their side of the bracket, beating Redacted and ShanghaiSharks relatively easily to secure their spot. In the middle of the bracket, Wanted Goons bested MIGHT and Supernova Comets 2-0 while seoul had a scrappy run, needing three maps to best both ooooooooo and Enigma.

The seeding round ended up seeing Fisher College come out on top amidst a wave of forfeits, as the four teams opted not to play, seemingly giving the collegiate squad a lucky break in claiming the top seed.
