PGL reschedules Bucharest Closed Qualifier to avoid conflict with FRAG x Block
PGL has confirmed to Dust2.us that they have rescheduled the North American Closed Qualifier for PGL Bucharest 2025, seeing the qualifier's start date moved from February 28th to March 4th. The Romanian tournament organizer has moved the dates of their qualifier in order to avoid a scheduling conflict with the upcoming Fragadelphia x Block LAN, which is set to run from February 28th to March 2nd.
PGL's decision to move the qualifier is a rare example of a major tournament organizer cooperating with the NA grassroots scene, with the decision likely coming as a major relief to top NA teams that are set to attend the Philadelphia LAN event next week. Both avoid are set to offer Valve Regional Standings (VRS) points, meaning participating in both could prove invaluable for teams looking to make their way in the North American MRQ BLAST.tv Major Austin qualifier in April.
While PGL are yet to release the invites for the PGL Bucharest NA Closed Qualifier, the massive 32-team qualifier is expected to see nearly all of North America's top teams in attendance, many of whom also booked tickets for the $10,000 Fragadelphia x Block LAN.
The third NA open qualifier for PGL Bucharest 2025 is set to start tonight in about three hours time, with notable teams including Vireo.pro, Ghost, Akimbo, Immigrants Peek, Fisher College, and Supernova Comets.
