vanity retires from professional play
Former eUnited and Chaos in-game leader Anthony "vanity" Malaspina has announced his retirement from competitive play.
vanity enjoyed an eight-year career, playing in both CS and VALORANT. He was a part of the Chaos team that qualified for Flashpoint 1 in early 2020 and won a couple of online titles during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The American transitioned to VALORANT after Chaos withdrew their support for the Valve FPS, and the roster couldn't find an organization to fund them.
After multiple years in the VALORANT ecosystem, vanity decided to retire in November of last year and return to CS2 with Getting Info, a team featuring former eUnited teammate Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado. The roster was heavily linked with TSM by Dust2.us, but the deal was never finalized. According to HLTV, the organization is still exploring options to sign an NA roster for 2025.
vanity spoke of his brief return to Counter-Strike in his announcement:
I've decided to step away from pursuing professional play, After the whole 2023 Cloud9 situation I've felt the same way and at first I thought it was just me disliking the formats in VALORANT/just being jaded from what happened, but after attempting to play CS for a few months I think I've just grown out of this part of my life and it's time to close the door on it.
