Jason Lake teases Complexity Star logo rebranding
Valve has just released the stickers for the PW Shanghai Major and fans received that news with excitement. As players, coaches, and members of the community shared their thoughts on X, one post might have flown under the radar.
Jason Lake shared the original post, adding that "Collectors will want to snag the Complexity Star logo before it's retired.", teasing a rebranding of the Jerry Jones/John Goff star logo.
Complexity has gone through two logo changes since its inception in 2003. Originally, Jason Lake offered $1,000 for the best fan-created logo for the newly-created compLexity Syndicate. That logo would be the face of the organization until 2016 when Jason Lake and Jason Bass decided it was time to "bring the old, beloved mark into the modern age."
The 2016 rebranding would last until 2019, two years after the Jerry Jones/John Goff acquisition. The logo would become a star, very similar to the Dallas Cowboys logo, whose owner has been Jerry Jones since 1989. In 2024, Jason Lake would reacquire Complexity after it was sold to GameSquare and would immediately start to test the waters for a rebranding, selling the 2011 Throwback jerseys, which the players wore during the PGL Copenhagen Major 2024.
Jason Lake has very explicitly shared that he wants to bring back the old logo, with the owner also liking the idea of doing this for just one major.
Complexity will face FlyQuest in the Opening Stage of the PW Shanghai Major. The match is scheduled to start on Friday 11:00PM.
