Fisher Tsunami top Frag x Tap 2 over timbermen

An exciting series to end a great event.

Last night Fragadelphia x Tap 2 came to an exciting conclusion as Fisher Tsunami battled their way back in an exciting series to take down timbermen 2-1 in the grand finals, securing the collegiate team their first LAN win and $5,500.

The regional LAN's group stage featured several exciting matchups. However, when the smoke cleared, the majority of favorites made their way into the top sixteen, with Timbermen, MIGHT, Collin "CoJoMo" Moren's Penance, Slugy's Shekel Squad, and Fisher Tsunami considered the favorites for a deep run. Of these teams, Penance was the first to face the music after falling to Fisher Tsunami in a close 2-1 series in the semifinals.

Next to go was MIGHT in the semifinals, as the veteran's squad was seemingly powerless to stop the timbermen mix, with Wyatt "Snav" Phillippi's squad securing a dominant 2-0 win over MIGHT.

On the other side of the bracket, Bradley "Slugy" Kohler's mixteam proved to be another robust challenge for Fisher Tsunami, as another close 2-1 win was needed to propel the collegiate squad into the finals.

With the finals bracket drawn, the series began on Fisher's map pick of Nuke, where after a very closely fought battle, timbermen would pull through in overtime 16-14 with Nelvin "nooz" Gonzalez leading the charge. Moving onto map two, Mirage, timbermen's map pick also went down to the wire, requiring a massive performance from Alexander "AlekS" Andersson to keep the timbermen off map point and take Mirage 13-11.

With the series tied up, tempers were flaring in the venue heading onto Anubis, with the map starting off with a 6-6 tie as neither team showed signs of slowing down. On their CT-side, FIsher Tsunami once again had to rally around IGL AlekS as the Swede led on the CT-side defense as Fisher were the first team to find double digits before closing out the map 13-10.
