Wildcard secure first Americas RMR spot as BOSS fall to 2-1 bracket
The first to qualify to the Americas RMR from North America has been found and it's Wildcard, after beating BOSS 2-0, with two very close maps.
Wildcard will be embarking on a long journey to China to try to improve the record from the last Americas RMR where the trio of Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz, Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek, and Josh "JBa" Barutt finished with just one win and two losses.
The series between Wildcard and BOSS started off with Nuke, picked by BOSS. The map would have a very balanced first half, with the two teams reaching halftime tied 6-6 after BOSS strung together five straight close to the end of the T-side. Wildcard would do even better, achieving six straight rounds to reach a 12-8 map point but BOSS would get closer at 12-11 before Wildcard stole its opponents' pick 13-11.
Up next would be Wildcard's Dust2. BOSS would start with the foot on the gas, reaching a 5-0 lead early on the CT-side. Wildcard caught up in the scoreboard and even took a 7-5 lead as the map reached halftime. BOSS would win yet another pistol round but that would be it for a while as Wildcard went on another streak with four retake wins in a row. In fact, BOSS would be unable to win another round, as Wildcard won Dust2 13-7 and the series 2-0.
With this result, Wildcard are going to China to play the Americas RMR, hoping to claim a spot in the Perfect World Shanghai Major. BOSS have now fallen to the 2-1 bracket where a win doesn't automatically qualify the team but a loss does eliminate them.
