Sayonara to four as Day 1 concludes
The first day of competition has ended, as Phoenix, Limitless, Homyno, and Take Flyte have all been eliminated from the 2024 Perfect World Shanghai Major Americas RMR North American Closed Qualifier.
Mythic, Take Flyte, Akimbo, and FLUFFY AIMERS all survived last night in fairly straightforward contests, except for Mythic who rallied from a first-map whalloping to ensure their survival. The stream team were fully awake throughout the brutal ending of the series on Nuke, which saw the two sides go through a tight overtime on Nuke before deciding the final winner.

Finally, FLUFFY AIMERS confidently took care of their opponents Phoenix, who have been dumped out of the competition. The former Perseverance squad have struggled to find their form since the scandal that saw them banned from ESL Challenger League: North America. In a quick, 0-2 loss, the squad were simply unable to beat out the AIMERS who now face a tougher opponent in Party Astronauts.
