Five teams qualify to ESL Impact Season 6 NA

Over the past two weekends the open qualifiers for ESL Impact Season 6 NA were played out, with two spots filled via the first open qualifier while the final three were filled via the second open qualifier. The league had an extra spot made available due to Lotus' former core dissolved, meaning FlyQuest RED, TSM Shimmer, and Karma were the only teams directly invited from last season.

With the smoke cleared and the final open qualifier concluded last night, old stars, Nouns.fe, Lotus, Imp Pact, and Aware Impact have all claimed spots in ESL Impact Season 6 NA and will now battle to claim NA's sole spot in the Season 6 Finals in Stockholm.

The first Open Qualifier featured eleven teams, with names including Nouns.fe, Lotus, Doves, and Gnomes being the most notable lineups angling for a spot in the NA Impact League. Ultimately after three rounds of play old stars would take down Aware Impact to lock in their spot while also besting Lotus on the way to qualification. old stars features a number of known faces in the Impact scene including Daria "daria" Anokhina from Limitless Angels, Iuliia "sckrafft" Gerasimova from Saints, and Kiki "PiggyKiki" Long from Evil Geniuses Gold and Limitless Angels.

The other squad to make it through the first Open Qualifier was the familiar Nouns.fe squad, who bested Gnomes and Chimken on their way to securing their second season in the league.

In the second Open Qualifier, despite there being three spots in the league on offer, only ten teams signed up, with Lotus, Doves, and Gnomes returning to take a second crack at qualifying. Lotus were the first team to do so with their new roster, claiming wins over Doves and Chimken, setting the stage for Lydia "Fawx" Dalton and Ariane "ARIANARCHIST" Lafrenière to return to the league. Next up on the winner's podium was Imp Pact, making their way into the league via wins over Gnomes and Aware Impact.

Finally, the Aware Impact squad locked in the final spot thanks to a close 2-1 win over the Doves squad in the third-place decider.
