ioRascal announces retirement plans

The former VALORANT coach is retiring to pursue a full-time job.

Last night LAG's head coach, Taylor "ioRascal" Hays, announced his intentions to retire from competitive CS2 following Fragicago 2024. ioRascal had returned to Counter-Strike from VALORANT in April 2024, joining LAG as their head coach while maintaining his role as Head of VALORANT at Fisher College.

ioRascal told Dust2.us he made the decision to retire following Fragicago 2024 to pursue a full-time job, with his recent internship coming to an end. In total, ioRascal's coaching career in CS:GO and CS2 saw him work with a number of ECL and ESEA Premier teams including LAG, X13, Limitless, and Detonate. He also told Dust2.us that his understudy, Alex "Takumi" Henning, is set to stay with the team and will work under their new head coach once the organization finds someone for the role.

ioRascal's departure from LAG comes at an inopportune time for the squad as the team have struggled in recent weeks, bombing out off CCT NA Series #2 with a 1-3 record while also facing recent losses to M80, Party Astronauts, and E-Xolos LAZER in ESL Challenger League Season 48.

When ioRascal retires following Fragicago 2024, LAG will consist of:

  • Bodgan "ogwizard" Savula

  • Deniz "experative" Mutlum

  • United States Quinn "Nyyx" Knott

  • United States Nick "nicx" Lee

  • United States Wyatt "Weeza" Sahrmann

  • United States Alex "Takumi" Henning (Assistant Coach)
