missharvey and Last Minute take home LAN ETS title
LAN ETS 2018 took place at Place Bonaventure in Montreal, Canada where it is widely known as the largest scale LAN party in the Great White North. The multi-day event hosts a myriad of tournaments for many games, including CS:GO.
After a rigorous Swiss format groupstage, and even being knocked down into the lower bracket, the pug of Last Minute clawed their way into the Grand Finals against Crysix and won out 2-1. Last Minute, as it was aptly named, was a mixed pug of Team X and other semi-pro Canadian players. Catherine "CAth" Leroux Tweeted with elation regarding their victory.
The Last Minute roster that won ETS LAN is:
- Stephanie "missharvey" Harvey
- Catherine "CAth" Leroux
- Abdo "c4lyspo" Agha
- Jean-David "broox" Boucher
- Maxime "maxmeister" Lapierre
The prize distribution for the top three placings can be found below:
1. Last Minute - $4500 (CAth, missharvey, broox, maxmeister, c4lypso)
2. Crysix - $2000 (smL, MNZ, miLLe, M3lio, ReeeeeLaX)
3. Swarmio.GG - $1000 (crux, Skelly, rugrat, AGN, unknown)
Some other notable names that made appearances throughout the event were the core of French Connection, an ESEA Main team that got the assistance of MDL coach Corey "flashstep" Parks, while Danny "huynh" Huynh of LFAO stepped in for the pug of Recess.
Also present at the event were Team Siren, a mix of notable Canadian players such as Yassine "Subroza" Taofik, Kaleb "moose" Jayne, and Loic "effys" Sauvageau. Despite going 5-3 in the group stage, the mix did not proceed to the playoffs.
