nosraC and co. topped Fragicago with little trouble

Nouns cruise to Fragicago 2024 victory

The top-seed made quick work of the field of 30 teams.

Nouns have topped Fragicago 2024, besting timbermen in a largely one-sided finals that saw the orgless squad fail to pose a serious challenge to Nouns despite their billing as their obvious finals rival. Nouns' win marks the end of the three-day 30 team tournament which saw a number of ESL Challenger League teams compete for the $5,500 top prize.

Nouns' road to their top finish began with a bye in Group A, requiring the squad to only face WICKED in a quick 2-0 victory to make their way into playoffs. Nouns were joined there by a number of other ECL and top ESEA Advanced teams including InControl, Akimbo, LAG, Limitless, and Take Flyte.

In the playoffs, Nouns' road saw them take down InControl and Akimbo with little difficulty before squaring off against Limitless. This series would prove to be their most difficult of the tournament as Limitless actually forced Nouns to three maps. Limitless struck the first blow with a 13-9 win on Inferno before Nouns answered back with a 13-5 win on Ancient. With the series tied, Nouns claimed a quick 13-8 on Mirage to advance into the grand finals.

On the other side of the bracket, timbermen began with a quick win over Milanese Money Management, a 2-0 stomp against the BHOP mix that featured a map one 13-0. Their semifinal bout saw timbermen also face some adversity as Take Flyte won Anubis 13-11 before timbermen came back with a 13-5 on Ancient and a 13-6 on Mirage.

In the grand finals, Nouns began Mirage with a 9-3 CT-side lead against timbermen, which snowballed into a 12-3 immediate match point on their T-side. timbermen tried to get back into the map by winning the next five rounds in a row, however one more round from Nouns was enough to take the map 13-8.

Moving onto Nuke, Nouns' pick, they started with a suffocating 6-1 lead before timbermen finally got into the map, closing the gap to 6-6. After switching sides, they were even more dominant on their CT-side, with a round 19 crash not even being enough to stop their momentum as they closed out the map 13-7 and the series 2-0.
