Blue Otter Karma upset; 2-0s galore | ESL Impact S6 Week 1 Roundup
ESL Impact is back with Season 6 and the very first week was unsurprising, with the favorites taking commanding wins against the underdogs, with the exception of Blue Otter Karma who failed to win a map against Imp Pact, a roster full of Impact rookies and Lilith "gadfly" Mize, a sophomore.
Nouns fe 2-0 Aware
Nouns fe showed why they are one of the most hyped teams in ESL Impact recently. Although last season didn't go well, having to change players every other week, the Nounish women came out of the gates swinging this time around. Aware managed to have a competitive first half on Anubis, trailing by two before going into the CT-side but Nouns fe were the superior team for the remainder of the series, winning Anubis 13-8, and then Ancient 13-5.

Blue Otter Karma 0-2 Imp Pact
This result is the news of the week. Last season, Karma were just a win away from qualifying for the LAN Finals and entered Season 6 as one of the favorites to take a Top 4 place but this early loss against one of the new teams puts Blue Otter Karma in bad waters. Imp Pact, on the other hand, have shown good signs for the foreseeable future, winning Vertigo 16-14 and then Inferno 13-10.

TSM Shimmer 2-0 Lotus
This is not a do-or-die season for TSM Shimmer, but it is a crucial moment, given that only one NA team will advance to the LAN Final. That being said, TSM Shimmer claimed a solid win over a rebuilt Lotus roster, which now features some new faces to the Impact scene. Louts' pick of Ancient was all TSM Shimmer's as the black and white squad won it 13-5, and managed a similar score on Mirage, 13-7.

FlyQuest RED 2-0 Lumen 
Week one ended with a strange series. FlyQuest RED, the almighty squad of ESL Impact NA, controlled the first map, Mirage, picked by Lumen, as they won 13-3 with the usual suspects topping the scoreboard. Then, Lumen came right back, winning the T-side of Anubis 7-5 and even reaching a 12-9 map point. FlyQuest RED managed to send the map to overtime and win it 16-14, but they have shown weaknesses early on in the season. Could this be a sign of things to come?
