Complexity collapses in Katowice
Complexity looked poised to take down Falcons and survive another day here in Poland only to see their fortunes reversed as they lose their own map pick and the decider to be eliminated from the tournament. It is a major let down for NA fans who saw the team steal Falcons' pick and looked prepared to win on Overpass, a map that Falcons had not yet played as a team.
Ancient was a strong map for Complexity as they continuously showed themselves to be the better team throughout. Playing as the CT to start out the match, the Americans held strong and had the ability to go up 8-4 on the half if it was not for Falcons pulling out two clutches back-to-back to even up the score. The T-side was a stronger showing NA as they bounced back from losing the second-half pistol in order to pull away and secure their opponent's map pick 13-9.
It was all supposed to go smoothly for Complexity as the team headed towards their pick of Overpass. This was a map that Falcons have not yet played as a team either online or in-person. The T-side operation for Complexity was not up to their usual snuff at Falcons jumped out to a 7-1 lead after the Americans failed to get anything going. Bad turned to worse even on the CT-side as Falcons ran wild and crushed Complexity to win their map pick 13-5.
Anubis was a tough map as well for Complexity who once again immediately went down 1-7 at the hands of the European squad. Complexity would be able to climb back on their CT-side to get five rounds, putting them in a salvageable position as the Americans headed to their offense. The Americans would be able to get their first lead since Ancient as they went ahead 9-8, but it was too little too late as Falcons' defense held strong and they pulled out a 13-10 victory.
Complexity, now out of Katowice, will look towards the PGL Copenhagen Major Americas RMR for their next LAN event.
