FlyQuest RED win third ESL Impact Cash Cup of the year

FlyQuest RED are now coming off of their second ESL Impact Cash Cup win of the year as they took down Shimmer 2-0 in their second matchup in as many weeks. Shimmer had won the first ESL Impact Cash Cup of the year and were looking to earn their second $750 prize in 2024.

The event featured an eight-team bracket with FlyQuest RED, Shimmer, Nouns.fe, and Lotus (ex-Tsunami Sirens) being the most well-known squads out of the bunch. Seeding would determine that neither of these four teams would face each other during round one. FlyQuest RED beat clutchpanties 13-3, Nouns.fe defeated Mulch Munchers 13-4, Lotus destroyed OnlyFinsAngels 13-2, and Shimmer won comfortably 13-4 over sugar mamas.

The top 2 ESL Impact Season 4 NA teams in the semifinals remained victorious, as neither team dropped a single map. Shimmer faced Lotus and won 13-5, 13-6, while RED went up against Nouns.fe and beat them 13-6, 13-3.

In the grand final, FlyQuest RED would come out victorious, not allowing Shimmer to win a single map with similar scorelines from the previous week. The first map, Mirage, picked by Shimmer, would be the most balanced one, as RED went to the half 7-5 ahead going into the T-side. Shimmer's defense was not good enough and FlyQuest claimed the 13-10 win. The second map, Inferno, would be a T-side masterclass from Mounira "GooseBreeder" Dobie and co. as they had a 11-1 T-side before closing the game 13-1.

This is FlyQuest RED's second ESL Impact Cash Cup win in a row, granting them another $750. The next event is scheduled for the weekend of February 24th-25h.
