ESL are enticing teams to stay active in their circuit

ESL release details of revenue share model

Organizations may opt into ESL's revenue and profit sharing system.

ESL has released details regarding its revenue-sharing system, informally known as the ESL CS2 Ecosystem Agreement.

The tournament organizer is offering up over $11 million to teams who opt into the agreement across 2025 and 2026, with $3.7 million and $3.8 million up for grabs in prize money and club rewards, respectively.

$7.5 million is available to any team attending ESL events in 2025, but only teams who opt into the agreement will receive the end-of-year bonus.

Only teams that opt into the ecosystem agreement will be eligible for the $2.95 million revenue/profit share incentive at the end of the year. One of the big requirements for teams to be eligible for the revenue share is that they must not decline more than three tournament invites in a two year period, and no more than two in a single year.

This was done to likely entice teams to choose ESL's events over those of their competitors when there is a schedule conflict, as can be seen with PGL Astana 2025 ending one day before the start of IEM Dallas 2025.

Seems like it, which in a way makes sense with player salaries being what they are.
