ESEA postpone Season 33 Global Challenge
ESEA have announced that the ESEA MDL Season 33 Global Challenge will be moved back due to health and safety concerns and travel restrictions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although they have yet to set a new date, ESEA plan on having it play out during Season 34 before the start of ESL Pro League Season 12.
As the event is now happening up to five months later than initially planned, ESEA have announced teams will now be able to add up to two additional members to their roster. This move in particular offers a lifeline to Triumph as the team recently lost Logan "Voltage" Long to Chaos and cut Peter "Asuna" Mazuryk.
Additionally, ESEA are giving Global Challenge teams the option of opting out of Season 34 if they believe they are unable to manage their schedule and attend the LAN. These teams will be given spots in Season 35 in the event that they do not qualify to ESL Pro League Season 12.
As a reminder, the list of teams set to attend the ESEA MDL Season 33 Global Challenge are:
Sprout | AGO |
Japaleno | Triumph |
Bad News Bears | oNe |
ORDER | Lucid Dream |
