ESEA announce Season 34 details; no Global Challenge
Following the conclusion of the MDL Season 33 playoffs and as the bracket stage begins to get underway in lower divisions, ESEA have announced the details for the 34th season of the ESEA league platform. Notably, MDL Season 34 will be the first training season since Season 30, and as such will not offer promotion to ESL Pro League nor conclude with a Global Challenge event.
New teams are eligible to register for league play immediately, with signups remaining open until April 21st at 3 AM EDT. Teams who are currently participating in Season 33 will be able to signup following the conclusion of the move-up process, which ESEA plan to announce on or around April 9th.
Following the conclusion of the registration period, teams will have two additional days to ensure that four players on their rosters have paid their league fees. The following day, on April 23rd at 6 PM EDT, schedules will be released, and teams will be able to see their upcoming matches, with the first default day of play set as April 27th.
The regular season will run until June 28th, with rosters locking two weeks prior, on June 14th. Playoffs are slated to conclude nearly a month later, on July 21st, with leagues likely continuing to utilize a double-elimination bracket to determine the champion.
