Akimbo sign Advanced third-place finishers
Akimbo, an esports organization created in 2019, have signed a new roster for ESEA Season 47, picking up third-place ESEA Advanced Season 46 roster niisesports on October 19th. This is the organization's second, and most serious, foray in Counter-Strike, having previously hosted an ESEA Open team last season.
Their new roster, formerly named after the titular Benjamin "niise" Mauldin features a number of familiar names at the ESEA Advanced and ESL Challenger League level. Russian AWPer Sebastian "Florence" Ogarev, Sam "Noxio" Goodwin, Kaitlin "Keiti" Boop, and niise all have ESL Challenger League experience, while Noah "flixxy" French has been a regular contender in ESEA Advanced playoffs.
Keiti's addition to Akimbo marks the first time the former VALORANT player has been part of an organization since leaving Cloud9 White following allegations of misconduct. In a public statement, VALORANT observer Melanie "mel" Hoi-San Man accused the player of manufacturing a crisis involving lewd images of herself. Keiti retreated from public eye following the incident and has only started to return to competitive play within Counter-Strike. Keiti has not made a public statement acknowledging the incident since. Her signing by Akimbo, will ideally grant her the opportunity to reintegrate with the community and eventually make light and move past the serious misconduct.
