Forsaken destroy ClayMakers to secure ESL Challenger League spot for next season
Forsaken have done what many expected them to do, win ESEA Advanced Season 46 with ease. In a Bo5 Grand final where Forsaken started with a map lead thanks to coming from the upper bracket, ClayMakers got rolled over and gave Forsaken a spot in ECL Season 47, the only spot available. ClayMakers' path to the Grand final was relatively comfortable, seeing the team go 10-0 in maps on their way to the grand finals.
The journey to the Grand final for ClayMakers started with a 2-0 win over Limitless, followed by another two sweeps against Spate and niise. Three very dominant series wins that culminated in getting thrashed by Forsaken in the final series of the league.
The Bo5 series started with Forsaken already up 1-0 due to coming from the upper bracket and was followed by two very quick maps. Ancient, picked by ClayMakers, a map where the team averaged almost 12 round wins on the T-side, was a straight-up beat down, with Forsaken only allowing their opponents to win a single T-side round. ClayMakers managed to win the CT-side pistol and the following round, but Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz's men aren't paid by the hour and closed the map 16-3.
The second and final map was Forsaken's Overpass. Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk ended the T-side with 131.7 ADR and a 1.93 rating, as his team went into the second half 10-5 ahead. ClayMakers managed to win two rounds after halftime again, to save some face, but the map ended quickly after, 16-7 was the final score.
With this win, Forsaken showed they deserve a spot in ESL Challenger League Season 47, and they will be one of the top teams of that competition, if everything keeps going as has been going.
