Extra Salt hints at return for CS2
It's been a while since we have seen Extra Salt, who left the Counter-Strike scene back in January 2022 following the sale of Johnny "JT" Theodosiou, Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen, Justin "FaNg" Coakly, and Ricky "floppy" Kemery to Complexity. The team also released Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado and sold Josh "oSee" Ohm to Liquid in December 2021, leaving them without a presence in the scene.
There was hope that the organization would be back in Counter-Strike, but due to the economic constraints of the owners, they moved on from esports and were not involved in further rosters, despite being in talks with Damian "daps" Steele's Orgless roster which included Will "RUSH" Wierzba.
Sadly, that signing never came through and Extra Salt went dormant. All of that changed after they tweeted out yesterday morning an AI image of three players around a table with the Counter-Strike 2 logo on a monitor in the background.
The cryptic nature of the tweet has fans excited for a potential comeback into the game, with questions sent to Extra Salts' owners left unanswered. Extra Salt was known for their unique branding and merchandise, which included selling jars of literal salt.
