$2.5k Roobet Arena September set to be first CS2 tournament in NA
This weekend, Roobbet Arena September is set to begin, with the $2.5k cup having the honor of being the first Counter-Strike 2 tournament to be played in North America. Unfortunately, however, despite the historic nature of this event, Roobet and Challengermode have struggled to garner signups due to a lack of proper advertising and Challengermode being a relatively niche platform in NA.
This is a common issue for Challengermode events as the previous Roobet cup in August only featured thirteen teams, with a number of them being relatively low-level squads. Currently the only squads of note signed up to the September event are Wildcard and Take Flyte alongside a very lost Polish stack helmed by Dominik "GruBy" Świderski. The previous iteration of the event was won by Wildcard over FLUFFY AIMERS, with the former squad taking home a little over $1,000.
With there being no ESEA Cash Cup this weekend, hopefully the turnout can improve as players look to get some much-needed CS2 experience. Interested teams can sign up here.
