Wildcard takes home Roobet $2.5k Cup

Last weekend, Challengermode hosted a $2,500 online cup sponsored by Roobet. The cup, being held monthly, is part of several events that the two will be hosting with other daily and weekly cups with smaller prizepools.

Thirteen teams entered the competition over the weekend, with Wildcard, Reason, FlyQuest RED, and FLUFFY AIMERS the most notable teams in attendance. The competition played out over the weekend in a single-elimination fashion, with all matches outside of the finals and third-place decider being BO1.

The first round went by without too many hitches, however there are questions regarding the seeding as the now Badass team (formerly timbermen) faced off against FlyQuest RED, while teams like Amigos Da Bebel and Claymakers were given first-round byes.

Regardless of the seeding, Badass had arguably the most difficult path as after taking down FlyQuest RED they had to go up against FLUFFY AIMERS, who easily took them down 16-6.

In the semifinals, Wildcard breezed through Reason 16-4 while FLUFFY AIMERS demolished Take Flyte 16-5, setting up a Wildcard versus FLUFFY AIMERS grand final with Wildcard taking home first place and $1,089 in a 2-1 victory. In the third place match, Take Flyte were able to also take down Reason 2-1 and secure $544 for themselves.
