Thunderpick Day 3: Semifinals go as expected
The quarterfinals for the Thunderpick World Championship 2023 North America Series #2 began yesterday with two matches kicking off with the remaining two starting today. With an event that has seen only some slight drama, most results have gone as expected. With Bad News Bears playing Reason tonight and undefined squaring off against the jungle, there is the potential we could finally see some interesting results.
Yesterday we saw Badass take on Hound, who have had some strong results lately while Badass seemed to stumble in their first match of the competition. Despite a staggering first map loss against Green Tea Party, Badass have cruised through and that included their match yesterday. With two dominant 16-6, 16-7 map wins against Hound, Badass look ready to take on their next opponent in the competition.
Elsewhere, Forsaken seemed to struggle in their first map against Take Flyte, with the two having to go into overtime on Ancient in order to settle their difference. Forsaken would come out with the 19-15 victory before cruising to a second map 16-5 win on Overpass.
