ECL Relegation Raring To Go
The relegation tournament for Season 45 of the ESL Challenger League is set to start tonight and run through to the 11th. As usual, the format will be an eight-team double-elimination bracket with the top four qualifying to the next season of ECL.
Having recently won ESEA Advanced, WITHOUTWARNING have directly qualified to ECL, leaving Rocket, REIGN, Torch, and one more team to try contest for a spot in relegation. The final team coming from ESEA Advanced was determined yesterday in a fifth-place deciding BO3 between No Impact and StrikeX.
Being brought down into the relegation tournament from this season's ECL regular season are timbermen and BHOP from Group A joined by Snakes Den and Take Flyte from Group B. The fall down to relegation is a rare sight for a team like timbermen, who were only last in danger at the end of Season 41.
The following opening matches of the relegation bracket will be played tonight at 08:00PM:
The next upper and lower bracket matches will be played on the 10th at the same time, and finally the last lower-bracket round on the 11th also at the same time. The top two teams each from the upper and lower bracket will qualify for next season of ECL, playing among teams such as MIBR, EG Black, ATK, paiN, and Nouns.
